Silver Tier School Certification

Silver Tier Certification builds off of a school's Bronze Tier experience by empowering schools, and their districts, to take what they learned from their Tier 1 experience to figure out where they want to be and how they want to get there. Silver Tier certifications last for 3 years.

Silver Level Certification Requirements

Step 1: Your school has achieved Bronze level certification within the last three certification cycles
Step 2: You have updated your Indicator Tracking Sheet to reflect changes and growth since your previous certification
Step 3: Create and submit your FRS-NJ video
  1. Length 3-5 MINUTES

  2. Must incorporate various people including students, teachers, board members, school administrators/leaders, and other stakeholders

  3. Focus on your school’s initiatives and methods to promote transformative change and prepare your students to be successful members of a digital society and workforce.

  4. Answer the following questions as a component of your video’s narrative:

  • What is the current state of your school’s digital learning environment?

  • How do you plan to grow and progress based on your Bronze and Silver Tier experiences?

  • What were the major lessons that your school learned by going through the process of self-assessment and certification?

  • The video must be designed for dissemination (and disseminated) to your community and stakeholders as well as for FRS-NJ certification

  • The video format is flexible so long as it is accessible via link

Step 4: Ensure that your Indicator submissions meet the following requirements:

  • All evidence links are set to public (anyone with the link can view), including links to the School Video

  • The tracking sheets are not reformatted by adding columns, rows, or additional sections not provided in the template

  • The tracking sheet is the document provided and owned by FRS-NJ directly and isn’t a copy or outdated document

Step 5: Ensure you meet the "Community Leadership and Service" requirements:

  • Social media using the hashtag #FRSNJ

  • Other mechanisms and opportunities that show the district is actively communicating their successful implementation of the FRS-NJ practices highlighted in the Indicators of Future Readiness both within the district and externally to the NJ educational community
